Hi Bettina! That’s a bit tricky, as swimwear is designed to stretch and often contains synthetic materials. TomboyX is a good starting point, but you could certainly find small makers on Etsy who work only with those materials! Hope you find the perfect suit 🙂

I typically try to buy natural fabrics, but that isn’t so easy for swimwear.

I have to agree here, several of the brands on this list aren’t backed by ethical manufacturing which I think is a very important part of being considered a "sustainable" brand. It’s not just about using recycled material, what about their greater supply chain footprint from manufacturing overseas? There’s a couple good ones here but I’d love to see the whole list as ones that are truly walking the walk if they are to be included in a "sustainable swim" guide or else it’s misleading. My vetted favorites are Vit A, Pelican House, and Skatie.
